Who We Are

The Independent Complaints Commission (ICC) is an independent governance oversight institution established by law in the Police Act (Sections 128 -148) to promote accountability, professionalism, discipline, and respect for the rule of law and human rights in policing functions. ICC was established in 2010 and rolled out its operations in August 2021.

An effective independent oversight institution that promotes respect for civilian rights and professionalism in the Malawi Police Service.

To ensure the highest standards of accountability, professionalism, and respect for the rule of law by conducting independent, impartial, and quality investigations into complaints concerning the Malawi Police Service, for the promotion of public trust.
